For this August Kestrel Knit-A-Long, we invite you to make anything you'd like in Quince & Co Kestrel! Choose from so many beautiful warm weather tops and wraps.

We have a selection of great Kestrel patterns at Maker+Stitch here, and you can find many on Ravelry here. Take a look, find your favorite pattern and yarn requirements, then place your pre-order here for the color and amount of yarn you need. Make sure to order by Sunday night, August 9th.

We will ship your yarn (and your pattern if you order a hard copy of one of our Kestrel patterns) to you in time to start the KAL on August 21st. Kestrel knits up very quickly so we have great faith that you'll be wearing your piece for late summer!

We will start our KAL on Friday, August 21st at 1:30 - 3:30PM MDT, and continue to meet on Fridays through September 11th.  Feel free to join us in the shop (we will follow all Covid protocols) or by Zoom.

A little about the lovely Kestrel: Kestrel is a new take on a simple linen yarn. Quince & Co  took the same Belgium-grown organic linen that they use in their little Sparrow and spun it this time in a ribbon structure. Kestrel knits up quickly at 3½ to 4 stitches to the inch. Its flat surface adds a slight texture to simple knit and purl stitches. But we think the best thing about it is its incredible drape. Like all things linen, woven or knitted, Kestrel only gets better as you wash and wear it.
