Construction Project Contest!
For this contest you can knit or crochet ANYTHING. Read on...
Our sidewalk will be a wee bit messy for about two weeks starting May 20th (Update! Changed to May 27th). So we're having a contest. Purchase yarn between now and Wednesday May 19 (EXTENDED! To May 26), cast on, and finish your project before the construction project is done. You can do this from AFAR too. We'll give you two weeks at least - hoping the sidewalk doesn't take longer but it might, giving you extra time. Participants who finish before construction completion will be entered in a drawing for a gift card for 1/2 the total amount they purchased between now and May 19th (extended to May 26th)! We will pick two winners!
Purchase yarn for one of the project ideas here, or any project you'd like. We've listed some great yarns for each -- click through to choose and purchase. Purchase your pattern directly from Ravelry, also linked. No need to add this contest product to your cart, just share your finished project with us by the time they finish construction. Thanks and have FUN! Call or come in if you have questions or need ideas. 970-569-2744.
Daybreak Shawl by Stephen West:
Daybreak is a semicircular shawl, featuring clear graphic stripes that echo a rising sun. The generous wingspan allows the fabric to drape comfortably around your shoulders and neck. There is plenty of room to play with color in the three sections of this arched shawl.
There are three sizes available to knit Daybreak. Small (Medium, Large)
Color A: 135 (240, 325) yds
Color B: 200 (270, 440) yds
Anker's Summer Shirt by PetitKnit
The sweet, not-difficult Anker’s Summer Shirt is worked from the top down. The yoke is worked in sections of rib with increases in the round, followed by classic raglan increases when the stockinette stitch section begins. The sleeves are worked at the end.
600 - 960 yards of DK weight yarn.
XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL / to fit bust: 31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39¼) 39¼-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ inches
Flicker and Flame by Andrea Mowry
Hats for the whole family in two different yarn weights! These hats are knit from the bottom up, with the colorwork motifs being read from a chart. The hat can be knit in sport or worsted weight yarn.
For either weight, less than 130 yards each of two colors is needed.
Jude by Brenda K B Anderson
With its intertwining + winding cables like vines, Jude by Brenda K.B. Anderson is inspired by arbors dripping with ivy. The interlocking cable stitch is hypnotic and easy to memorize. Made in Weld, this hat is warm enough for a winter day, but wearable well into the the spring + fall.
Suggested Yarn: Weld (2 skeins)
