Hey everyone, look for this one in the future. Postponing for now. Thank you!
Join us for a magical three-day knitting retreat where creativity meets winter fun! Immerse yourself in the art of lace knitting with renowned designer and instructor Bristol Ivy, as we knit, relax, and explore all that Beaver Creek has to offer.
Our newest retreat opportunity takes place in the delightful skiing village of Beaver Creek, Colorado in just two months. We are thrilled to offer this retreat and to have Bristol Ivy join us to teach lace knitting design.
Bristol will teach her "A Lace for Everything and Everything in Its Lace," in-depth knitting and design class over three 3-hour sessions.
"Lace is one of the most beautiful ways to manipulate your knitting into something truly spectacular. In this class, we’ll work on designing our own lace patterns based on two different development techniques: encoded and improvisational. From there we’ll swatch, play, and perfect that lace ready to add to any project you want! We will additionally cast on and start a project using our lace designs.
- Experience needed: increasing, decreasing, comfort with lace, comfort with charts"
Outside class time, when we are not soaking in Bristol's knowledge, the opportunities to recreate in Beaver Creek abound. Try downhill or nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and ice skating! Rent equipment from the many knowledgeable rental locations in the village, or bring your own if you have it. How about booking a spa treatment, shopping, or just relaxing with friends surrounded by the snowy rockies?
While these activities are not included in retreat pricing, find below the numerous opportunities for winter fun that the Beaver Creek area has on offer:
Beaver Creek Winter Activities
Bluegrass at the Vilar Performing Arts Center
Exhale Spa in the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek
(a treatment room at Exhale)
Additionally there are many bespoke boutiques and unique shopping opportunities in the village, as well as cozy cafes and fun restaurants should you want to choose to lunch out and about.
Our retreat will start Wednesday at 10AM at our shop in Edwards (just a few miles from Beaver Creek). We will drive up to our lovely accommodations in Beaver Creek, drop our stuff and enjoy the day.
Until 3:30 pm, your day is free for activities and exploring. There is a complimentary shuttle from our lodging and back again to anywhere within Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, or Arrowhead (ski villages). We will serve lunch at our lodging should you want to eat in.
Bristol will teach her first 3-hour session at 3:30 pm. After our class, we'll have apps and a yummy home-cooked dinner. The rest of the night is open for knitting or night-life... your choice. We have an inviting indoor/outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub at our fingertips, too!
Thursday you'll wake up to a continental breakfast and then the day is yours for any choice of activity you've decided to try. Lunch will be served at our lodging should you want to eat in. We will convene again at 3:00 for our lesson with Bristol, followed by apps and another delicious home-cooked dinner. If you've bought tickets for the Vilar Show, we'll get you fed quickly (early) and you can catch the shuttle to the show.
Friday you'll wake up a little early for breakfast and to check out of one of our units, then we'll have our last lesson with Bristol from 10 - 1. When we're done, we'll fully pack up and head back down to our shop in Edwards, at which time our retreat comes to an end.
