Wild Borocera Silk
Handspun Hope's Wild Borocera Silk spun on drop spindles in the Central Highlands of Madagascar, will delightfully fill your craving for a stunning, hand-spun, "thick and thin" fiber.
Until now, this gorgeous yarn was imported into Rwanda in single ply, which the women of Handspun Hope plied and hand-dyed organically with mostly native Rwandan plants.
They are also importing this scrumptious yarn that has been naturally dyed in Madagascar. The women of Handspun Hope in Rwanda ply the yarn into a two-ply yarn and put it into hanks.
Handspun Hope is thrilled to support the women of Voajanahary cooperative, with whom they have partnered since 2011, by purchasing their gorgeous handwoven scarves.
The purchase of this yarn is not just a transaction; it's a step towards empowering these women to earn a living wage. New initiatives teach low-impact farming and help save the Madagascar forests while providing an incentive for local people to protect their trees.
Handspun Hope is a sustainable artisan brand committed to ethically sourced materials and minimal environmental impact.
Handspun Hope is a certified member of the Fair Trade Federation.
